Elizabeth Morris

I am a printmaker who enjoys islands and the sea, and my work has come to reflect two particular island environments. They are Mersea Island where I live and where I work in my studio, and Heir Island, a small island in West Cork where for years I have spent much of the summer, sailing, walking and drawing. Sea and sand patterns, shapes of stones, textures, imprints in mud and tracks of birds, fish, gulls - and most recently – sea myths and biblical stories with sea references, are all used as starting off points for my prints
